The FoHSA Easter Trail 2024

We would like to thank all of the HSA community who attended the event; the FoHSA Bunny Squad hope you had as much fun as we did! With this being a mainly free event, we had a lot of people ask if they could make a donation.  If you had fun and would like to donate so we can keep doing community events like these, please donate via our Donations page.

The Bunny Squad was up bright and early to set up the event on 16 March with former students coming to help hide over 1000 eggs on the playground and Lower Field as well helping set up the stalls and to hand out maps and assist wherever they could. This is a testament to the sense of community our children have, even after they leave HSA.

We also had parent volunteer Lucie Dennison lead our forest school activities which included play with clay and decorating wooden eggs.  The children loved playing with the natural resources and making something to take home.  The stall was busy throughout with the exception of the five minutes during the Egg Hunt!

Just before 2pm, we had a visit from the Easter Bunny (year 8 student Joshua Tucker) who came to open up the Egg Hunt for the younger children.  The little ones were enchanted by his antics and so eggcited to start the hunt!  With a countdown heard near and far, the children raced into the playground and made short work of finding all the eggs.  The joy they exuded was palpable!  And at the same time, the older children raced onto the Lower Field finding all the eggs in less than one minute!

With so many prizes to be won, the children came over to our stall to claim prizes from our Bunny Squad - we had a lucky dip box for those who had a ticket to "win a prize" and big chocolate eggs for those who found the golden eggs.  The children were so happy to find the perfect thing to take home with them.  Other eggs were filled with tattoos, pencil sharpeners, bracelets and whistles (sorry parents! 😁) The whistles proved very popular!  The members of the Bunny Squad - Beth, Elle, Emma, and Louise - handed out prizes hand over fist after the hunt.  We know the little bunnies were happy with their hauls!

Our Bunny Squad was also very busy selling drinks and snacks as well as handing out prizes for all those who completed our Easter Trail and were able to answer the question of how little bunnies keep fit - collecting either a chocolate bunny or lolly for the right answer.  And our Spin the Wheel game was very popular with so many children praying it landed on winning a lolly!
